SELF-DRILLING GROUND ANCHORS
Self-drilling anchors, or hollow bolts as they are also known, are used in basement retention systems. They are used in weak ground where traditional ground anchoring methods cannot be used. The common trouble with drilling in weak ground is the drilled may not stay open after drilling, the self-drilling anchor utilises a sacrificial drill rod that uses cement grout pumped down the hollow centre of the drill rod to flush and grout as the hole is drilled.
